Privacy

AiSIC collects as little as it can: no analytics, no advertising and no cookies unless you log in. Simulations run on your computer, and what you do on the site stays in your browser unless you save it to an account.

Who is responsible

Raphael Viera, the site's publisher, is responsible for the personal data described here. Write to contact@aisic.dev about anything on this page.

What reaches the server

Your browser requests the site's pages and files through Cloudflare, which sees your IP address, your browser's details and the addresses you request in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare may also receive reports of failed connections from your browser (network error logging). It acts for the publisher under its data processing terms and may process this data in the United States.

The server itself, at OVH in France, keeps no access log for this site. Its error log, which can contain the IP address involved in an error, is rotated weekly and kept for four weeks.

This processing rests on the publisher's legitimate interest in running and securing the site (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).

What stays in your browser

The site sets no cookies unless you log in (see Accounts below). It keeps a few things in your browser's storage for this site, and none of them is sent to the server, except your guided-lab progress while you are logged in:

  • the circuit, view and panels you last used;
  • your edited testbenches and bench settings, and your guided-lab predictions;
  • projects you save on this device;
  • simulation runs, only if you choose Save on this device in Saved runs: at most 20 runs, each kept for 7 days.

Clear them in the Saved runs panel or with your browser's settings for this site's data.

Email

If you write to contact@aisic.dev, your message and address are kept on the same server at OVH in order to answer you, and deleted within twelve months unless the conversation continues. This rests on the publisher's legitimate interest in answering you.

Accounts

An account is optional; everything else on the site works without one. It exists to keep projects in the cloud, so you can open them on another computer.

  • What it holds: your email address, your password in hashed form (never the password itself), when you joined and confirmed your address, the projects you save to the cloud with their files, revisions, runs and design studies, and your guided-lab progress (your predictions and which labs you completed), so it follows you to another computer.
  • Where: the AiSIC service on the same server at OVH in France, and the host's daily backups of that server.
  • API tokens: for each token you create, its name, its access, a hash of it (never the token itself), and when it was last used. Deleting it, or the account, removes it.
  • Classes: if you join a class, its teacher sees the email address you logged in with, when you joined, what you submit to its assignments with the service's rerun of it, and can open the revision you submitted. Leaving the class or deleting the account removes you from it.
  • Showcase entries: an entry you write, with its images and PDFs, stays private until you submit it and a moderator publishes it; it is then public under the author name you give. Images are stored again without their metadata, location included. Entries leave with the account.
  • Email: the service sends only the confirmation of your address and password-reset messages, from no-reply@aisic.dev.
  • Cookies: two, set only when you log in or create an account. aisic_sessionid keeps you logged in for up to 14 days; aisic_csrftoken protects your account from forged requests and is kept for up to a year. Both are strictly necessary for the service you ask for.
  • Limiting abuse: to slow down password guessing and bulk registrations, the service counts recent attempts per IP address in its memory, for at most an hour.
  • How long: until you delete the account. A registration never confirmed is deleted after 7 days, and expired logins are removed daily. Deleted data leaves the host's backups as they rotate.
  • Your controls: in the Project panel, Download my data gives you everything the account holds as one file, and Delete account removes the account and its cloud projects at once. Projects saved on your device are not affected.

The account and its projects are kept to provide the service you asked for (Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR); limiting abuse rests on the publisher's legitimate interest in securing it.

What the site does not do

There are no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and nothing you do on the site is sent to an AI service.

Your rights

You may ask for access to, correction or deletion of personal data about you, restrict or object to its processing, and ask for a copy of it: write to contact@aisic.dev. You may also complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).
